Well, I am sitting here four hours away from 2011. I am following in my husband's footsteps and just setting a few goals to accomplish by March 31. I am putting them here so you can hold me accountable, so you can challenge me when I am lagging.
Here are my goals for the next three months:
1. Read 6 books--i have them picked out and will address that in another post. I have become very lazy in my reading.
2. Challenge my group of sixth grade girls spiritually. I want them to begin to make their faith their own rather than their parents. I believe that is when we will begin to see them do great things in the Kingdom. So, I am going to memorize the book of Phillipians by Easter, and I am going to invite them to join with me.
3. Invest in my family in more specific ways--making time in my schedule to do the things I know each one needs.
4. Working with Buck to move our family towards a more generous lifestyle--we made strides working that into our budget this year, but need to do some more intentional things.
5. My Health--this pregnancy has taken a toll on my body so far. I need to do some specific things the last six months to keep baby and me healthy: pop only on weekends, wii-fit three times a week, and plan our meals more in advance (got out of this habit when ALL food was making me sick)
6. Find three young moms who do not know Christ and invest in them--it has been so difficult for me to meet anyone here, but I know there are some strategic things I can do such as story time at the library and classes at the rec center.
It seems like a lot, but I know it is just about discipline and surrendering to the one who gave up the comfort of a throne to come and live and die for me.
Thanks for sharing this! I love the idea of the March 31 deadline! Thanks for the challenge!
